Dementia and Older Adult Psychiatric Disorders

I am a fully registered medical consultant psychiatrist specialised in Old Age and Organic Psychiatry.
Currently a full time NHS consultant for a memory service in the public sector.
In the private and public sector I provide high standard assessments in line with NICE and GMC guidelines.
I provide holistic and robust assessment, diagnosis, and treatment plans; for all types of dementias, depression, anxiety, sleep, and psychotic disorders.
I can conduct variety of capacity assessments in relation to the court of protection and deputyship.
I assist in finalising the decision to take the rout of Court Protection or Lasting Power of Attorney or will update.
I incorporate the Mental Capacity Act and respect the rules of confidentiality.

Full GMC Specialist Registration. I qualified in 1992 Bachelor Degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBChB).
I have around 23 years of experience in the field of Old Age Psychiatry, and memory service. 11years at consultant level.
In 2006 MRCPsych, UK ,London, I have a full membership with the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
In 2009 I had my DGM (Diploma in Geriatric Medicine) from the Royal College of Physicians, UK ,London.
Wide practical experience in clinical management of the spectrum from mild, moderate to severe presentation.
I have a special interest in geriatric medicine and brain imaging.
I can assess multiple domains of the condition, and deliver diagnosis with minimum distress towards my patients. Patient's care is at the heart of my concern.

Process

I can see one to two patients after the working hours and 4 patients during the weekends.
I do a thorough initial assessment adopting a bio-psych- social model. The first assessment takes from 45 to 90 minutes, then I request scans or other investigations if needed
We book the feedback session with a review of brain imaging and provide an advance treatment plan.
I feedback to you and your GP the outcome of the assessment and treatment plan.
I try to minimise the waiting time to the best I can!
